Hacker uses LED billboard to 'express' road rage

Instead of flashing the finger or engaging in drag racing, a hacker rigged an LED display on his car's rear window as a response to "road rage." Gagandeep Singh set up the 40-x-16-inch LED matrix display and affixed it to his car's rear window, tech site Engadget said.

"Eventually, this helpful hack'll hookup with a mobile phone over Bluetooth, delivering real-time updates (and insults?) to the display," Engadget said. For now, the display seeks to inform errant drivers of their bad manners, it said. In the video, the LED display can show messages like "Drive Slow" and "Keep Distance," and indicate if the driver is turning left or right. Engadget said the setup uses an AT89C51 micro-controller, where hard-coded messages and animations are then fed to the 2cm-x-2cm grid. — TJD, GMA News
