Apple 'live streams' Jobs memorial

Apple Inc. is making public a video of the special event it held at its corporate campus in California to say goodbye to its late co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs. "Celebrating Steve" is an 80-minute video available on Apple's website, showing the event at its campus last Oct. 19, enthusiast site AppleInsider said. Thousands of people had watched the event in person and around the world, as Apple closed its retail stores to let employees watch a live feed of the event. AppleInsider said the "Celebrating Steve" event featured performances by Coldplay and Norah Jones, while Apple's campus was decorated with large banners displaying pictures of Jobs from over the years. The event started with an introduction from current Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook. It then celebrated the life of Jobs and the accomplishments he made before he died Oct. 5 at age 56. However, AppleInsider said that to watch the video, one must have Apple's Safari 4 or 5 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Lion; Safari on iOS 3 or later; or QuickTime 7 on Windows. Apple 'moves on' Meanwhile, Apple's website appeared to have moved on after Jobs' death, with the home page featuring the new iPhone 4S instead of an image of Jobs. A link to messages of condolence for Jobs was relegated to the lower left part of the home page (http://www.apple.com/stevejobs/). — TJD, GMA News
