Twitter rolls out new timeline update

Micro-blogging site Twitter is quietly rolling out an update to its Timeline feature, enhancing many of the contents there, a tech blog reported. Pinglio.com founder Patrick Bisch said the new Timeline now allows users to click individual tweets to expand conversations, media, and RTs (retweets). "Alternatively, when hovering over a tweet, an Open link appears and can be clicked to expanding the tweet. Once opened, a Close link appears to close the expanded tweet. I haven’t seen any official word on this from the official Twitter account or their blog, but a few users are reporting it," Bisch said. Bisch said the update enhances conversations, where clicking a tweet that has a reply to it will expand into the full conversation. Tweets with media links such as TwitPic or Youtube will expand the media inside the Timeline, he said. On the other hand, clicking on tweets that have been retweeted by others will show a horizontal list of those who RT’d it. Also, clicking an individual’s Twitter handle will pop over their profile in a single frame above the Timeline. — TJD, GMA News
