Bomb threat disrupts Calamba City Hall activities

Transactions at the city hall in Calamba, Laguna were disrupted Thursday after an employee received a text message claiming a bomb was in the building. Calamba police head Superintendent Joel Permito said a city hall employee received the text message at around 9:45 a.m. "We requested assistance [from the] regional bomb squad," he said in an interview on dzBB radio. A search of the city hall premises yielded nothing, and activities were back to normal as of Thursday afternoon. But he said the police have tightened security measures at City Hall following the bomb threat. "[We are now] implementing strict security control," he said. — KBK, GMA News
