PAGASA: Isolated rain possible on Oct 31, Nov 1

Partly cloudy skies and isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may loom over Metro Manila and many major cities in the country on October 31 and November 1, state weather forecasters said Friday. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) also maintained there is no sign of any cyclone or weather disturbance that may affect the country on those days. "Sa ngayon wala pong sama ng panahon. (Ang shallow low-pressure area) nalusaw na po," PAGASA forecaster Jun Galang said in an interview on dzBB radio. Instead, he said a moderate to strong northeasterly surface wind flow is prevailing over Luzon. As such, he said the whole country will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening. PAGASA's extended five-day forecast indicated Metro Manila will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. The temperature range in Metro Manila will be 24 to 32 degrees Celsius this Monday; and 24 to 33 degrees on All Saints' Day. On the other hand, the five-day forecast said other major cities like Tuguegarao (Cagayan), Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on October 31, but partly cloudy with isolated rain on November 1. However, Metro Davao and Cagayan de Oro will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on both October 31 and November 1. Meanwhile, PAGASA's 5 a.m. bulletin indicated moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.  — LBG, GMA News
