Banks assure public of enough ATM cash for Undas

Even as they assured residents of enough cash in automated teller machines (ATMs) for the long Undas weekend, banks reiterated their advice to Metro Manila residents to take security precautions during transactions. A report on radio dzBB Friday said the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas had reminded all banks to ensure there is enough cash in ATMs to last the long weekend.
The report noted many Filipinos may start their trip to the provinces early Friday to pay respect to their dearly departed, and may just withdraw money from ATMs. It added many Filipinos expect to get their salaries via ATM on Friday. Also, it said some banks assured the public that they will maintain kiosks at malls, while others will have some branches remain open from Saturday to Tuesday. Meanwhile, the report said the BSP and Philippine National Police reminded the public to take safety and security precautions while withdrawing cash from ATMs. Such precautions include making sure a security guard is nearby, and the area where the ATM is located is well-lighted. — LBG, GMA News
