MTRCB teams inspect 'Undas' buses for x-rated films

Even the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board is on duty during "Undas" (All Saints' and All Souls' Days), inspecting province-bound buses to make sure they do not show R- or X-rated movies during the trip. MTRCB chairperson Grace Llamanzares warned bus operators they face a fine of P10,000 to P20,000, and face the cancellation of their franchises if they are found to be repeat offenders, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported. The report said teams from the MTRCB also inspected buses to check if the movie discs they are using are not pirated, even as they plan to field secret agents to check on buses plying routes to the provinces for "Undas." According to Llamanzares, she had received complaints from passengers about provincial buses showing inappropriate movies during trips. This will not be tolerated especially during "Undas" where many children are expected to be among the province-bound passengers, she said. She reminded the bus operators they are allowed to show movies that are rated "G" (general patronage) or "PG" (parental guidance). Llamanzares signed a memorandum of agreement with Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board chairman Jaime Jacob to monitor the movies shown on buses and to penalize the violators. Hotlines Llamanzares said violations may be reported to the MTRCB via landline and text at:
