Google+ gets photo tools, business access

Google+, search giant Google's upcoming social network, received new upgrades October 27, including photo tools, access for business users, and features for popular posts. Vic Gundotra, Senior Vice President of Engineering, said the four new features should make Google+ better for users every time they use it. "We think Google+ should get better every time you use it. It’s not enough to obsess over community feedback (which we do); we also need to surprise and delight you with constant improvements (which we also try and do). Today’s no different, so we’re rolling out four new features in four different areas," he said in a blog post. He said the four new features include:

  • What’s Hot on Google+: see what everyone’s talking about, including breaking news or beautiful photos, as well as "interesting and unexpected content."
  • Google+ Ripples: watch how posts get shared, with a visualization tool for public shares and comments.
  • Google+ Creative Kit: have more fun with your photos via a "fast and friendly way" to make powerful edits to photos. Google added limited-edition Halloween effects to the Creative Kit.
  • Google Apps customers can now use Google+ - a feature Gundotra said was highly requested. — TJD, GMA News
