Bro. Eddie calls for 'global prayer' for PHL

A 'global prayer' from Filipinos the world over could help President Benigno Aquino III find solutions on the problems besetting the country, Jesus Is Lord (JIL) founder Bro. Eddie Villanueva said Friday. “It will strengthen the national leadership of President Aquino to be bolder than before in imposing righteousness in governance. Kaya it’s our duty to help the President," Villanueva said. The religious leader asked Filipinos worldwide to support President Aquino’s “Daang Matuwid" for good governance, as he is convinced it will lead to the country’s prosperity. “Daang Matuwid" is the battlecry of the Aquino administration, and was also used as his campaign slogan during the May 2010 elections. Villanueva launched on Friday the “God Bless the Philippines Global Prayer Movement" during his organization’s 33rd anniversary event at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila. The movement asks Filipinos around the world to say a prayer of “God bless the Philippines" everyday at 12 noon, based on their respective time zones. “Now, we conceived this global movement to enjoin… encourage millions of Filipinos all over the world wherever they are, regardless of time zone, that every noontime they utter a simple blessing," Villanueva said. Filipinos are also requested to visit the prayer movement’s website, and post there their prayers for the country. —MRT/VS, GMA News
