Three people killed in Butuan City as pickup truck rams house

Three people were killed while two others were seriously injured when a pick-up truck crashed onto a house in Barangay Sto. Niño, Butuan City in Mindanao. Supt. Martin Gamba, chief information officer of the CARAGA regional Police, said the pick-up was sideswept by another car before it crashed onto a house. Gamba said the vehicle driven by Manuel Cayetano was heading toward Cotabato City from Surigao City at around 2:00 p.m. on Monday when the accident happened. “As a result, it swerved and hit the house owned by the Laribas," Gamba said. He said the driver and the vehicle involved in the accident are now under the custody of the local police. Five victims were taken to the hospital but three of them died due to serious injuries. The three fatalities were between the ages 53 and 73. Two other victims were reported to be in critical condition at the Butuan Doctors Hospital. - VVP, GMA News
