Mayor Lim orders closure of North Cemetery makeshift passageway

An angry Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim ordered on Tuesday the closure of a makeshift passage to the Manila North Cemetery that allowed people to slip past security at the cemetery's main gates. According to a report of radio dzBB, Lim became angry when he learned about "Daang FPJ," a secret passage from a house at a nearby street that led to an area near the tomb of the late actor Fernando Poe Jr. (called by fans as "FPJ"). Earlier reports alleged that some people were allowing others to pass through the passageway in exchange for P1. Lim inspected the North Cemetery as Filipinos flocked there on Tuesday morning to pay their respects to their dearly departed. A report by dzBB's Carlo Mateo said at least 800,000 people were at the North Cemetery as of 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. - VVP, GMA News
