Google beefs up search results for real-world places
Search giant Google has enhanced its search results by adding additional information to real-world places, adding photos and other data to a map of the places. Tech lead Jim Müller said the new layout may appear on the search results page for restaurants, hotels, local businesses, landmarks and museums. âOf course, the local information that appears will vary depending on whatâs available online. So the next time you plan your visit to the New England Aquarium or Fenway Park, you might be able to check out their opening hours, get directions, and find the nearest transit stops, all from a simple Google search," Müller said in a blog post. He said Google will roll out the improved local search experience in more than 40 languages. Müller said the right panel of the search results page can include photos and an âat a glance" summary of the area. âEven if Iâm not looking for a particular place by name, I can learn about places and quickly decide which ones are right for me," he added. â TJD, GMA News
