Lithuania allows visa-free entry for diplomats, officials

Holders of Philippine diplomatic and official passports are now entitled to a visa-free entry to Lithuania for up to 21 days, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs relayed this to the Philippine Embassy in Stockholm, the DFA said. "Effective 1 October 2011, the decision confirmed the Lithuanian Government's acceptance of Ambassador Maria Zeneida Angara Collinson's proposal for the privilege to be accorded to holders of Philippine diplomatic and official passports," the DFA said. The new policy is expected to make official travel more convenient, it added. Lithuania joins another Baltic state, Estonia, in acceding to this type of arrangement proposed by Collinson, the DFA said. - VVP, GMA News
