Cops double security for Ramgen's girlfriend

After giving a statement that implicates the alleged killers of actor Ramgen Revilla, half-brother of Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr., the victim's girlfriend has been placed under tighter security by the Parañaque police. Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported on Friday that Parañaque police chief Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran ordered that security for Janelle Manahan be doubled. Beltran said he deployed police personnel to the hospital where Manahan is presently recuperating to ensure her safety. On Thursday, Task Force Ramgen head Chief Superintendent Enrique Sy said Manahan, who survived the attack, recounted to the police how masked gunmen entered her boyfriend’s home on October 28 minutes after she opened the door for Ram’s sister, Ramona Bautista. “Nakuhanan na rin namin siya [Manahan] ng pahayag at lalong tumibay ang kaso namin laban kay Ramona," he said in an interview over GMA News TV’s "News To Go" on Thursday. Sy likewise quoted Manahan as saying that she asked Ramona to call an ambulance after the shooting but Ramona allegedly never came back. The victim's brother Ramon Joseph and sister Ramona had been charged by police for the killing. Ramona earlier claimed that she was kidnapped by her brother’s assailants after the shooting and was later abandoned in Las Piñas City. Investigators however said Ramona may have only faked the kidnapping, and allegedly conspired with her younger brother, Ramon Joseph or RJ, to kill Ram due to sibling rivalry. Aide's statement The personal assistant of Ram affirmed that there was a rift among the Revilla siblings. In his sworn statement issued on Thursday, Ronaldo Ancajas, Ram’s stay-in personal assistant, said the victim and his siblings Ramona and RJ — have not been on speaking terms in the past months because of disagreement over money. “Ang alam ko ay matagal nang may tampuhan sila tungkol sa budget ng bahay, dahil si boss Ramgen ang humahawak at sinisiraan daw siya sa daddy nila, at mga ilang buwan din silang hindi nagkikibuan," Ancajas said in his statement, a copy of which was obtained by GMA News. Ram’s personal assistant claimed that he was with the victim minutes before the killing but went upstairs to his room for a nap. When he woke up, he saw Ram’s two siblings making their way out of the subdivision where he and Ram live. - VVP, GMA News
