Cigarette factory in Marikina goes up in smoke

A fire of undetermined origin razed an abandoned cigarette factory in Marikina City Friday night. The fire hit the factory of Philip Morris-Fortune Tobacco at Fortune village in Marikina City, according to a report on dzBB radio early Saturday. No one was initially reported injured in the fire, which started at 10:20 p.m., the report said. The fire reached Task Force Delta as of midnight, even as arson investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire. The dzBB report quoted Marikina Vice Mayor Jose Fabian Cadiz as saying the factory had been abandoned long ago. — LBG, GMA News
