Bong to Ramona's mom: Make her come home

Senator Ramon “Bong" Revilla Jr. appealed to his half-sister’s mother Genelyn Magsaysay, to make her daughter, Ramona, return to the country to face the allegations that she had conspired to kill her elder brother Ramgen Revilla. Ramon boarded a Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong and left the country Friday evening after recanting her earlier statement to the police that Ramgen's killers abducted her. “Pabalikin mo ang anak mo. Hindi ako naniniwala na hindi mo alam," the senator said Saturday afternoon on a phone interview aired live on GMA Network’s Startalk. Likely destination: Turkey Ramona “Mara" Bautista is likely on her way to Turkey, Bureau of Immigration (BI) officials said. BI spokesperson Maria Antonette Bucasas-Mangrobang said Ramona indicated on her pre-departure card Friday evening that she is a resident of Istanbul, Turkey. Bautista used her Philippine passport with identification code XX1106480 as she was processed through the immigration section of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1. She boarded the CX 902 flight to Hong Kong and was seated at the economy section of the plane. Senator Ramon “Bong" Revilla revealed in the Startalk phone interview that Ramona got married to a Turkish man when she was 19 years old. "Kaya sumama ang loob ng aking ama dyan kay Mara dahil nag-asawa nang bata…yun nga I think 19 years old nung mag-asawa si Mara. ‘Yon malamang 'yon ang pupuntahan niya dun sa Turkey," Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. explained that his officials could not prevent Bautista from leaving because there was no hold departure order against her. BI Spokesperson Mangrobang said Bautista had frequently traveled to Turkey in the past. “On the basis of checking the records of Ms. Ramona nag-travel talaga sya to that destination at base initial information frequent siya travel to Turkey,"
He revealed in prior interviews with reporters that Genelyn had become angry at him for not stopping the police from arresting her son, RJ Bautista, the alleged mastermind of the Ramgen murder. Senator Revilla maintained that he will not tolerate any effort by any member of his family to thwart the attainment of justice for his slain half-brother Ramgen. He also said the family's honor is on the line. Ramona's mother defended her children and said they could not kill their own brother. She said she did not raise her kids to be murderers.
'Let justice be served' “Ako ay maninindigan sa tama… Kung sino ang maysala dapat managot," Revilla said. Parañaque police on Tuesday filed murder and frustrated murder charges against Ramgen Revilla's siblings, RJ and Ramona before the Parañaque City Prosecutor's Office. The murder rap is for the killing of Ramgen while the frustrated murder rap is for the failed killing of Janelle Manahan, Ramgen's girlfriend. RJ was arrested and detained at the Parañaque police detention facility but Ramona remained in the custody of her immediate family. No warrant for her arrest was issued. Police said they will wait for the next move of the city prosecutor on the case.
Senator Revilla said Ramona was never in his custody although he was with her when police first interviewed her last Saturday about her supposed kidnapping. Ramona attended the wake of her brother, who was buried Wednesday afternoon in Imus, Cavite. Survivor's statement On Thursday, Task Force Ramgen head Chief Superintendent Enrique Sy said Janelle Manahan recounted to the police how masked gunmen entered her boyfriend’s home on October 28 minutes after she opened the door for Ramona. “Nakuhanan na rin namin siya [Manahan] ng pahayag at lalong tumibay ang kaso namin laban kay Ramona," Sy said in an interview over GMA News TV’s "News To Go" on Thursday. Sy likewise quoted Manahan as saying that she asked Ramona to call an ambulance after the shooting but Ramona allegedly never came back.
Ramona earlier claimed that she was kidnapped by her brother’s assailants after the shooting and was later abandoned in Las Piñas City. Investigators, however, said Ramona may have only faked the kidnapping, and allegedly conspired with her younger brother, Ramon Joseph or RJ, to kill Ramgen. Aide's statement The personal assistant of Ram has affirmed that there was a rift among the Revilla siblings. In a sworn statement issued on Thursday, Ronaldo Ancajas, Ramgen’s stay-in personal assistant, said the victim and his siblings Ramona and RJ — have not been on speaking terms in the past months because of disagreement over money. “Ang alam ko ay matagal nang may tampuhan sila tungkol sa budget ng bahay, dahil si boss Ramgen ang humahawak at sinisiraan daw siya sa daddy nila, at mga ilang buwan din silang hindi nagkikibuan," Ancajas said in his statement, a copy of which was obtained by GMA News. Ram’s personal assistant claimed that he was with the victim minutes before the killing but went upstairs to his room for a nap. When he woke up, he saw from a window Ram’s two siblings making their way out of the subdivision where he and Ram lived. — ELR/HS, GMA News
