Ramgen's injured girlfriend undergoes facial surgery

The girlfriend of slain actor Ramgen "Ram" Revilla underwent facial surgery at a Muntinlupa hospital Monday morning, more than a week after she was injured in an attack on October 28. Janelle Manahan was fetched from her room at 6:00 a.m. for the operation that began at 7:00 a.m., radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported. The dzBB report quoted Manahan's father Julius as saying the surgery would take five to six hours. Manahan suffered four facial fractures during the October 28 attack where her boyfriend was fatally stabbed and shot. Julius said he sensed Janelle is slowly gaining back her confidence when they talked briefly before the operation. Since the attack, authorities had tightened security on Janelle, who gave a testimony to police, contradicting the statements initially given by the victim's sister Ramona. Ramona fled the country last Friday and is believed to be in Turkey. Earlier, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said, without a formal order from the court, it cannot yet monitor the movements or bring home to the Philippines, the half-sister of Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. — Ramona — who was tagged in her brother Ramgen's murder. In an interview over radio dzRH on Monday, DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez said no formal request has been submitted to locate Bautista in Turkey or check her movements there. - VVP, GMA News
