Two kids die after being trapped in burning house in Quezon

A four-year-old boy and his one-year-old sister were killed on Sunday after being trapped inside their burning house in Tagkawayan town in Quezon province, a police report said on Monday. The victims — CJ Lopez, 4, and his sister Lady An Lopez, 1 — were killed in a fire that razed their home in Sitio Kiapoy in Barangay Sto. Tomas at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, the report said. The victims’ mother Elvira left her two kids inside their home after cooking lunch to gather firewood on Sunday afternoon, only to return with their house totally burnt down. The victims’ father only learned of his children’s death on Sunday evening, the report said. The investigators said the fire quickly razed the house because it is made of light materials, although they are still trying to find out the cause of the incident. - VVP, GMA News
