Pinoys dominate expats darts tilt in Myanmar


A team of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and embassy personnel in Myanmar bagged the championship title in the "Myanmar Expats Community Darts Tournament-Monsoon Season" in Yangon. Powered by team captain Norman Agpay, the "Pinoy Islanders" team bested seven other expatriate teams in the tournament that lasted from June to October this year. The Filipinos also bagged three out of the four individual awards, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. They winners included:

  • Rodrigo "Rudy" Ramos, Highest Finish (Men's Division)
  • Ruben De Torres, Highest Production (Men's Division)
  • Finance Officer Sarah Amihan, Highest Production (Women's Division) The other members of the team include Third Secretary and Vice Consul Bryan Jess Baguio, Loraine Reyes, Willy Araneta, and Rose Curato. According to the website of the Philippine embassy in Myanmar, the Philippines and Myanmar established diplomatic relations on September 29, 1956. The Philippine Embassy in Yangon (then Rangoon) opened on August 25, 1958. The Myanmar Embassy in Manila, on the other hand, opened in 1967. - VVP, GMA News
