PHL handicrafts featured in Laos festival

Philippine handicrafts made of capiz, shell, wood, and abaca were featured in the 10th Lao Handicraft Festival in October, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. The handicraft festival from October 19 to 23 was a venue for various embassies and international organizations in Vientiane to showcase their culture and products. Around 170 exhibition booths were set up by different embassies, local businesses and artists, and other international groups. It allows for producers, customers, buyers and sellers to meet and interact, and for craftspeople and exhibitors to learn about new designs, innovations and techniques that might be adapted to improve the quality of their products. Producers also have the chance to assess and respond to the needs of domestic and foreign markets. The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assisted the embassy in putting up the Philippine booth. - VVP, GMA News
