Armed men stage bus holdup along EDSA

Police operatives are tracking down at least four armed men who robbed passengers of a bus on Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Quezon City Saturday morning. The incident occurred at the portion of EDSA near the Metro Rail Transit North EDSA station, radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported. Domeng Manalo, a conductor of the "Malanday Metrolink" bus (TWH-461), said the men got aboard at Bago Bantay near Muñoz and declared the holdup near the MRT station. One of the men even fired his weapon during the holdup, the report said. At the time of the incident, the bus was heading for Baclaran in southern Metro Manila. Manalo was quoted in the dzBB report as saying the men had bladed weapons and handguns, and took the passengers' valuables such as mobile phones and jewelry. — LBG, GMA News
