Grenade causes tension in Makati City neighborhood

Tension gripped a neighborhood in Makati City early Sunday after local residents found a grenade in the middle of the street across a local health center. Police closed off a portion of Dela Fuente Street in Guadalupe Nuevo village to prevent any injury should the grenade explode, radio dzBB’s Rodil Vega reported. Initial investigation showed the grenade was “apple-type," with its safety pin still in place. Local police said village watchmen alerted them about the grenade. In the meantime, traffic along the street was rerouted to nearby Orense Street, the report said. — LBG, GMA News
