Pinoy children's choir performs in famous Spanish basilica
A Filipino group of young singers, the Loboc Children's Choir (LCC), performed at the world-famous La Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona, Spain earlier this month, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. The Philippine Consulate General in Barcelona said the Loboc choir, composed of children ages nine to 13, sang religious and Filipino folk songs in the basilica, a masterpiece of renowned architect Antonio Gaudi (1852â1926), on November 3. The basilica is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. âOnly a few groups have been allowed to perform inside the basilica, and LCC is now one of them," the Consulate General said. The LCC was founded at the Loboc Central Elementary School in Loboc, Bohol in 1980. In 1996, the LCC toured several cities in the United States for a concert dubbed, "On Angels' Wings: From Bohol to the World." The choir also performed in various other countries in Asia and Europe.
