Family massacred inside Sultan Kudarat home

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Five people — a couple and their two children and nephew — were killed inside their home in Sultan Kudarat province in southern Philippines on Saturday, a military report said. Investigators said a land dispute may have triggered the killing of Jolly Fegurac, his wife Josephine, their sons Jerson and Jonathan, and nephew Benjie Pelitro in Barangay Midtungok in Senator Ninoy Aquino town around 4 a.m. The victims sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies, said Lt. Col. Leopoldo Galon, spokesman of the Armed Forces’ Eastern Mindanao Command. One of the suspects, identified as Kinting Watamama, was reportedly seen exiting toward the hinterlands of Senator Ninoy Aquino town. Recovered from the crime scene were 16 empty shells from Garand rifle, and 46 empty shells of calibre 5.56. — Malu Cadelina Manar/KBK, GMA News
