Pinoy, Pakistani jailed for molesting student in UAE

A United Arab Emirates court on Sunday sentenced a Filipino security guard and a Pakistani worker to six months in jail for molesting a girl with special needs outside her home late last year. The court ordered the Filipino, 35, and the Pakistani, 21, to be deported after serving their jail terms, the news site Khaleej Times reported on Monday. The verdict is subject to appeal within 15 days. According to the report, the two defendants allegedly fondled an Indian in Palm Jumeirah. An American psychiatrist told the court that the victim was almost 26 years old but her mental age was just eight to 10 years old. The girl had gone for a walk but as she entered a ladies' restroom near a swimming pool in their building, a Filipino guard followed her and surprised her by kissing and fondling her. The girl told the court that the Filipino spoke to her in a language she did not understand. When she went to wash her hands, the Pakistani also went into the restroom and did the same things that the Filipino did. Khaleej Times said the victim went home without telling anyone what happened to her. The building security guard, an Indian national, later told the victim's mother about the incident. - VVP, GMA News
