Pinoy sentenced over pornographic photo shoots in China

A Filipino was sentenced to five years in prison last week for organizing “large-scale" pornographic photo shoots in Shanghai, China. The news site China Hush said Cai Guangming was found guilty of "organizing obscene performances and group licentiousness" by the Shanghai First Intermediate People’s Court on Thursday. The court also slapped Guangming with deportation and a 20,000-yuan ($3,154) fine. According to the report, the court found that Guangming — together with three others — had organized so-called “human body" photo shoots for models from February to November 2009, where more than 1,300 pornographic photographs were taken. They also reportedly staged about 40 “obscene performances" in various hotels in Shanghai. One of their alleged victims was Yan Fengjiao, a female contestant in a dating show on local television. After the indecent images were leaked on the Internet last year, Fengjiao admitted that she was the person in the photographs, but added that she was “threatened… with violence and forced to pose." Guangming was formally arrested last April, a month after he was detained “on suspicion of committing the crime of organizing obscene performances." Meanwhile, the other members of the group “had not been sentenced," a separate report from the “Shanghai Daily" said. — Rose-An Jessica Dioquino/RSJ, GMA News
