Lacierda says Palace won't allow Arroyo to leave

A Palace spokesperson on Friday insisted Malacañang will not allow former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to leave the country despite the Supreme Court resolution junking the Justice Department's appeal to uphold the watch list order (WLO) against Mrs. Arroyo. At a press briefing on Friday, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said they are still waiting for a formal copy of the resolution issued by the high court to ensure that the statement made by court Administrator Midas Marquez was faithful to the letter of the ruling. He also pointed out that the temporary restraining order against the WLO the SC issued last Tuesday is not immediately executory as the Arroyo camp has yet to comply with the conditions set by the High Tribunal. He further said that Mrs. Arroyo should not be allowed to leave the country because an electoral sabotage case has been filed against her before the Pasay City Regional Trial court. — LBG, GMA News
