Police coordinating with Arroyo camp to book ex-President

Police in southern Metro Manila are now coordinating with the camp of former President Gloria Arroyo as to when the former leader can undergo booking procedures. Southern Police District deputy chief Senior Superintendent James Bucayu said a team will take Arroyo's mug shot and fingerprints when she is ready. But he said police are still working out the details with Arroyo's legal spokesman Raul Lambino as of Saturday morning, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported. Even if the booking pushes through, Bucayu said they will have to get clearance from higher-ups at the Philippine National Police headquarters before giving details to the media. Arroyo has stayed at the St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC) in Taguig City since Tuesday night, when she was barred from leaving the country. Last Friday evening, she was placed under police custody at the SLMC after a Pasay City court issued an arrest warrant against her for poll fraud. Police have kept the hospital, including the room where she is staying, under tight security. — LBG, GMA News
