PAGASA: Amihan may be felt in northern Luzon Sunday

Northern Luzon may finally get its first feel of the cold Christmas air from amihan (northeast monsoon) on Sunday, state weather forecasters said Saturday. But the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) did not say when amihan can be felt in other parts of the country. "Barring any unforeseen weather events, amihan can be felt in Northern Luzon Sunday," PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said in an interview on government-run dzRB radio. The cool winds of amihan are associated with the Christmas season. Earlier this week, PAGASA forecaster Gener Quitlong said the winds are still coming from the east and southeast, and such winds are warm. On the other hand, PAGASA's five-day forecast until November 23 indicated Metro Manila may still have to put up with relatively warm weather. The forecast indicated a temperature range of between 24 and 32 degrees Celsius until Tuesday. — LBG, GMA News
