PAGASA: No weather disturbance but rain looms over PHL

While there is no weather disturbance nearing Philippine territory at this time, the country can expect rain in the next 24 hours, state weather forecasters said Sunday. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) also said the easterlies will still bring warm winds to the country. "Ngayon wala tayong nakkitang weather disturbance na makaapekto sa ating bansa," PAGASA forecaster Elvie Enriquez said in an interview on dzBB radio. However, PAGASA's 5 a.m. bulletin said a wind convergence may bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas. It said the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. PAGASA also said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast and east will prevail over Northern Luzon and over the eastern section of the country, and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas. Amihan Enriquez said the cold winds from Amihan (northeast monsoon) still cannot be felt as there is no high-pressure area that will block winds from the east. "There is no high-pressure area that will block the winds from the northeast," she said. PAGASA's extended forecast until November 24 indicated the temperature range for Metro Manila will remain warm, between 23 and 32 degrees Celsius. However, Enriquez also noted some areas in the north, including Baguio City, are experiencing cold temperatures already. "Di pa kalamigan though sa Baguio pumapalo na sa 14 (It is not yet cold though in Baguio the temperatures are going down to 14 degrees)," she said. — LBG, GMA News
