Death toll in Quezon City fire rises to 4


The death toll in the predawn fire that hit a residential area in Quezon City rose to four on Sunday after the bodies of three more children were found. Radio dzBB’s Allan Gatus reported the latest fatalities included a 10-month-old baby, a seven-year-old child and another one aged 10 to 12. Citing initial information, the report identified the 10-month-old as Alfred John Alcala; and the seven-year-old as Ariel Alcala. The third child was not immediately named. Earlier, firefighters said at least one person was reported dead in the fire that hit some 500 houses along National Irrigation Administration Road. The fire rendered some 1,500 families homeless and destroyed about P7 million in property. — LBG, GMA News
