Embassy assists over 450 Pinoys amid Thailand floods


The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok assisted some 456 Filipinos as of November 15 amid the flooding problems in Thailand. In an update posted on its website, the Embassy said it has helped some 456 Filipino individuals or groups as of Friday. As of November 15, the embassy has delivered relief supplies to still-flooded areas in:

  • the Minburi area (for 12 individuals), and
  • Soi 39 Ram Intra (for 11 individuals); Relief supplies were also distributed to 20 flood-affected Filipinos who went to the Embassy to receive them from November 15 to 17. "Many of those who were able to receive supplies in the Embassy have evacuated from different areas in Bangkok who are flooded and are now staying with friends, in remaining dry areas in Bangkok," the embassy said. Relief goods were also distributed to 37 individuals who went to the Embassy Friday. On the other hand, the Embassy said it also received cash donation from a Filipino organization. Meanwhile, the embassy advised Filipinos in Thailand to continue monitoring closely news broadcasts and advisories for evacuation at the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration website. They can also get flood updates in English from the Thai Government Public Relations Department (PRD).
