Fans welcome back Manny Pacquiao at NAIA


Fans gathered at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 as Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao arrived from Los Angeles before 9:00 a.m. on Monday. According to a report of radio dzBB, Pacquiao arrived via a Philippine Airlines flight (PR-103). In his arrival speech, Pacquiao thanked all the people who supported him as he fought against Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez in their WBO welterweight clash at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 13 (Manila time). "Salamat sa lahat na narito ngayon, salamat sa suporta," Pacquiao said. He said he prepared for the fight against Marquez not only by undergoing training but also by asking God's guidance. Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee were welcomed by their four children who brought long-stemmed red roses for their parents. Pacquiao and his family are expected to proceed to a hotel in Pasay City to rest before attending a thanksgiving Mass at the Quiapo Church in Manila. Marquez, 38, is a three-division world champion. He has eight world titles in three different boxing weight classes. Meanwhile, Pacquiao, 32, is an eight-division world champion and has 10 world titles.
