Manny Pacquiao attends noon Mass at Quiapo Church

Hours after arriving to a warm welcome, Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao attended a Thanksgiving Mass at the Quiapo Church in Manila on Monday noon. Attending a Thanksgiving Mass at the Quiapo Church has been a practice of Pacquiao whenever he returns home to the Philippines after a boxing match abroad. Pacquiao arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City on Monday via a Philippine Airlines flight (PR-103). In his arrival speech, Pacquiao thanked all the people who supported him as he fought against Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez in their WBO welterweight clash at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 13 (Manila time). "Salamat sa lahat na narito ngayon, salamat sa suporta," Pacquiao said. Pacquiao, his wife Jinkee, and their children attended a breakfast ceremony sponsored by GMA Network at the Midas Hotel in Pasay City. After the breakfast even, Pacquiao and Jinkee went to Quiapo Church where they were welcomed by churchgoers as they arrived for the Mass, radio dzBB's Manny Vargas reported. The Mass ended shortly after 1:00 p.m. The report said Pacquiao may proceed to the Manila City Hall for a courtesy call on Mayor Alfredo Lim before going to Malacañang to call on President Benigno Aquino III. Pacquiao, 32, is an eight-division world champion and has 10 world titles. He is the WBO Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion). - VVP, GMA News
