Pinoy cheerleaders to compete in Hong Kong

The Philippines will take part in the sixth Cheerleading World Championships to be held from November 26 to 27 at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Hung Hom. The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong said the Philippine Cheering Team is one of the 70 competing teams from 20 countries. "More than 70 teams from over 20 countries will showcase their technical skills and team spirit during the competition. This is the first time that the Philippines is sending a team to this biennial competition," it said. The Philippine team is composed of students from the University of the Philippines, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Centro Escolar University. They had topped the ranking meet conducted to determine the best teams in the Philippines, the Consulate General noted. According to the Consulate General, the competition will run from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on November 26, and from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. on November 27.
