Police: 2nd bomb found near Maguindanao massacre site

Hours after an explosion was reported on Wednesday near the site of the 2009 Maguindanao massacre, a bomb was found near the place where 58 people were killed exactly two years ago. Maguindanao police chief Senior Superintendent Marcelo Pintac said the explosive was found two kilometers away from the memorial site built for the victims of the November 23, 2009 massacre in Ampatuan town, Maguindanao province. "Malapit ito nang kaunti," he said in an interview over radio dzBB. Earlier, a blast was reported five kilometers from the site where the brutal murders occurred. Pintac said they conducted a "deeper paneling" or investigation after the first blast was reported. Based on their initial findings, the initial explosion was not meant to harm people, Pintac said. "Yung sumabog kanina hindi intended to harm anybody ... walang shrapnel, hindi ito meant to hurt anyone," he said.
