Xbox to get Metro-inspired dashboard by Dec 6

Following an initial beta release, Microsoft is set to launch its new Metro-inspired Xbox 360 "Dashboard" update on December 6, a tech site reported this week.

The update includes some social sharing and cloud-based saving features, according to an article posted on The Next Web.

It said that new features will include:

Facebook sharing
Cloud storage for game saves
A new feature within Xbox Live profiles called Beacons that makes it easier for Xbox users to find their friends when playing online.

Also, the update will deliver support for YouTube and Bing searches, utilizing voice control via Microsoft’s Kinect accessory.

The update started to roll out to beta testers last November 10, launching with an overhauled interface similar to Microsoft’s new Windows 8 Metro.

Xbox Live TV service

On the other hand, the Xbox Live TV service is also rolling out with this update, featuring content from US and UK partners including the BBC, HBO, Comcast, Syfy and Bravo.

These channels will be available to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers. — TJD, GMA News
