DTI seizes substandard Christmas lights in Divisoria

Inspection teams from the Department of Trade and Industry seized substandard Christmas lights from at least five stalls at a busy mall in Manila's Divisoria area. DTI Secretary Gregory Domingo said the substandard lights were found at a shopping mall in Divisoria, radio dzBB reported on Wednesday. The Divisoria district has been a busy area in recent weeks as shoppers flock there for bargains as the Christmas holidays draw closer. Notices of violations had been handed over to the five stalls where the substandard lights were found, the report quoted Domingo as saying. Domingo also reiterated his advice to buyers to check Christmas lights for indications that they are safe.
