BSP sets monetary policy confab in Feb. 2012
Researchers and academics will gather on February 28 – 29, 2012 in Manila for a conference on “Contemporary Challenges to Monetary Policy” for which the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas had issued a call for papers. Authors of accepted papers have been noticed. The BSP will publish presented papers in a conference volume to be released also next year. Presenters will each receive an honorarium of $1,000 and the BSP will fund their hotel accommodation. The last BSP conference held last September 6 – 8 was a high-level regional policy dialogue on, "Asia-Pacific economies after the global financial crisis: Lessons learnt, challenges for building resilience, and issues for global reform." It was organized by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP). Country experiences, handling food price volatility, managing capital flows, and rebalancing growth were among the key conference themes of the UN-ESCAP confab. — ELR/VS, GMA News
