8 missing fishermen found off Cagayan

The search for eight fishermen who were reported missing since Sunday finally ended Thursday when a Coast Guard team found them off Fuga Island in Cagayan.

 

A Coast Guard search-and-rescue (SAR) team found the eight taking shelter from big waves in the area, radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported.

 

Initial reports reaching the Coast Guard headquarters in Manila showed the eight fishermen were waiting for conditions to improve before they went home.

 

Earlier, the Coast Guard said the eight fishermen were reported missing Monday, more than a day after they left their homes for a fishing venture last Sunday.
