Rustom bares past fling with male celeb

CANDICE LIM Philippine Entertainment Portal Rustom Padilla dropped a bomb when he played "Forbidden Questions" in the radio program Good Times — hosted by Mo Twister, Andi 9, and Mojo Jojo — last January 3. "Forbidden Questions" is a game where celebrities are asked provocative questions about themselves and the industry. On the 29th question, Mo asked: "Have you ever slept with any famous guy?" Padilla hesitated. A year ago, Padilla came back to the Philippines after his five-year showbiz hiatus. While starring in the reality show Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition (PBB), he admitted on national television that he is a homosexual. Since his "coming out," he has received support and encouragement from his friends and even his family, which slowly but definitively got around to backing him up in public. Even the macho of machos, his brother Robin Padilla, eventually spoke up to say that it was his brother's life to live as he wanted. The fans eventually recovered from Padilla's shocking revelation and embraced him back. He now stars in ZsaZsa Zaturrnah Ze Moveeh, playing a gay parlorista. PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) names him one of the most controversial celebrities of 2006. Now, Rustom was about to answer yet another burning question about himself. He hesitated, "Tagal na ‘to, five years ago... hindi ito considered na ‘sleeping with a guy.' Parang hindi, di ba? Kung question mo sa ‘kin relationship, oo, pero I don't consider ‘yong guy na ‘yon as [someone I've slept with]. Technically, no." The three hosts probed some more and mentioned a few names, but the actor refused to answer. Mo Twister suggested that Padilla give the initials of the guy's name. "Alam mo, ang hirap kasi sa question mo, famous eh," explained the 39-year-old actor. "Kahit initials lang, patay tayo pareho! Alam mo, it's not that I care, kaya lang he's not out, I guess. Kawawa naman." Padilla tapped out. He scored 28 points, placing him in the same rank as Maui Taylor. Although he didn't finish the game, he still answered some juicy and interesting questions: Worst thing you've done to a fan? "Ito, hindi ko alam kung worst thing pero ito ‘yong worst feeling na naibigay sa ‘kin. Kasi nagbigay ako ng fake [phone] number," he laughed. He continued, "Kaso ang problema, kasama ko siya all the way. ‘Tapos kinukulit niya ako, ‘tinatawagan kita pero hindi nagri-ring.'" What's the craziest thing you've done while drunk? "Before, I used to [drink]. Birthday ng kaibigan ko. Ako ‘yong umo-order ng drink. A day after, tinatawagan ‘yong may birthday, P25,000 ‘yong bill because of me!" Bad encounter with a local celebrity. "Wala kasi," he replied. "Remember kasi pumasok ako sa industry, superstar si Robin e. So, parang people are extra nice to me. Parang ganyan. Maski ‘yong mga big stars — sila Vilma Santos, sina Nora Aunor — are all very nice to me, so wala talagang bad encounter... Nandoon ‘yong respeto. I'm very very fortunate para sa ganoong experience." Age when he lost his virginity. "Which?" he quipped. "[Sa girls] late bloomer ako... nakakahiya!" "Twenty," he finally said. The hosts asked what age Padilla lost his virginity to males. "Mas nakakahiya ata ‘to... around 31," he responded. Local celebrity who hasn't admitted to having plastic surgery done. "Hindi ako sure," he thought for a while. "May nagsabi lang sa ‘kin e... kasi nakasama ko si Alfred Vargas [sa movie]. Sabi lang nung kaibigan ko, ‘Dati walang puwet ‘yan e...' Pero hindi naman siguro totoo." Celebrity with the worst B.O. "Mga nakatrabaho ko before sina Dina Bonnevie, sina Alice Dixon, sina Carmina [Villarroel, his ex-wife] e. Mababango naman sila," he said. Mojo Jojo named Carlos Agassi and Chokoleit as the past answers to this question. Padila was asked to confirm and deny Chokoleit's alleged bad body odor since they worked together in ZsaZsa. "Madalas lang kasi matulog si Chokoleit kaya ‘yong breath niya [ganoon]," Padilla affirmed. Worst dresser. "Puwede bang isang grupo? ‘Yong Baywalk Beauties. Hindi ko lang talaga makuha [style nila]. I don't get it." MMFF's credibility. "I think this year na ‘yong definition ng MMFF [Metro Manila Film Festival], it's a joke," he asserted. "It's the biggest joke. Imagine, with due respect sa Enteng Kabisote, di ba? I mean sila mismo sa individual categories, wala silang pinanalo sa Enteng Kabisote. Then all of a sudden, Best Picture. So, parang it's a joke... Sila naman ‘yong gumagawa sa sarili nila kung ano tingin ko sa kanila." He recounted his bad experience during the MMFF Parade of Stars—a pageant for all the film entries' floats. "Imagine nag-float kami, ‘yong float namin tumirik! After all the preparation! ‘Tapos ‘eto pa isa, yearly ginagawa nila ‘yon, di ba? Pero they would make us start 1 or 2 p.m. dito sa Quezon City Circle, tapos ‘yong rota—dapat siguro napaghahandaan nila ‘yon, di ba? Pero hindi. Ang mga jeep sumisingit-singit sa parada! And traffic, of course. I don't know, parang joke. Talagang practical joke ‘yong nangyari sa ‘kin doon." One-night stand with a local celebrity. "Sa male wala," he clarified. "[Sa babae] meron, alam mo ‘yon nga nakalimutan ko ‘yong pangalan. Ito ‘yong mga sexy stars ng Viva [Films] before. Hindi naman siguro siya magagalit no? British siya eh... [Nakasama ko sa] Bilang na ang Araw Ko." A caller later phoned in that Padilla was referring to Michelle Parton. Worst actors. "Worst actress, Angelica Jones," he said bluntly. "Hindi dahil napanood ko lahat ng work niya or ng lahat ng artista pero ‘yong napanood ko lang sa kaniya. [Angelica,] puwede mo pang pag-aralan ang paga-artista. Trabaho ‘yan eh." He also named a worst actor. "Carlos Agassi. I don't think he's an actor. He's a rapper. He can be good at it, if he wants to, di ba? May potential. Pero I think as an actor, no." Biggest Drama Queen. "Noong panahon namin... Ako kasi para sa ‘kin, classic si Dina Bonnevie e!" he exclaimed. "Classic sa kin yan e. No one compares!" He recounted: "Pero nakakatawa ha, before, kunyari mayroon kaming pelikula—manunood ‘yan ng preview, ‘tapos ‘pag nakita niyang hindi nakuha ‘yong mga eksena niya, hindi na-capture—kasi naman ang ganda ng binibigay niya every shooting ‘tapos sa editing hindi na-capture ‘yong feeling na dapat na-capture—pupunta kay Boss Vic [del Rosario of Viva Films] ‘yan. Mag-iiiyak doon, ‘Boss Vic! Hindi ako...' Premiere night ‘yon ha. Naghihintay na kami sa bus... ‘Hindi ako pupunta ng premiere night!'" Hottest PBB housemate. "Para sa ‘kin, sobrang nagagandahan ako kay Bianca [Gonzalez]," he stressed. "Ang ganda-ganda ng face ni Bianca." Disliked PBB housemate. "Si Bianca rin," he admitted. "Kasi parang I felt... hindi ko kasi nasakyan after ‘yong... di ba sobrang close nila ni Zanjoe? Best friends supposed to be. And then afterwards... so paglabas ng bahay, hindi sila nagpapansinan. Parang na-turn-off ako after." Which celeb couple will not last? "'Yong Tonio and Lara," he laughed. "Alam mo kung bakit? Napanuod ko sila sa TV nag-aaway pero nakita ko sila sa Embassy [bar] magkasama!" He added tongue-in-cheek: "So I think hindi magtatagal!" Most plastic person in showbiz. "Hindi ba puwedeng showbiz mismo?" he asked. "Kasi it's all make-believe." Mo Twister said the answer has to be specific. "Si Mother Lily!" he laughed. Lily Monteverde, matriarch of Regal Films, produced Padilla's latest movie ZsaZsa for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). "Kasi pag nagkuwekuwentuhan kami, sasabihin niya, ‘Plastic ko, 'no?'" He added with gusto, "Kasi after ng MMFF, kumain kami sa Old Swiss Inn, kami nila Mother. Sabi niya ‘Nako next year talagang hindi na 'ko sasali dito [sa MMFF]!' Tapos punta siya sa Manila Pen, tapos naiwan kami nina Direk Joel Lamangan. ‘Tapos sabi namin, ‘Si Mother, naku last year sinabi din niya ‘yon—this year hindi siya sasali—ngayon apat ang entries niya.' Tignan mo, pagbalik ni Mother sa 'min, ‘Sige, sige, gawa tayo ulit ng pelikula. Dapat nagpre-prepare na tayo for next year!'" He joked: "Baliw si Mother, actually!" - Philippine Entertainment Portal
