Baby abandoned in Pampanga

Residents of a subdivision in Mabalacat town in Pampanga were shocked to find a newborn baby girl dumped in their village, Sun-Star Pampanga (www.sunstar.com.ph) reported Friday. The infant was found when residents of Metro Clark Homes discovered her in the yard of one of the houses in the village at 5 a.m. Wednesday. The baby sustained minor bruises on the face and body. According to a resident, the baby was found naked with a long umbilical cord. Mabalacat policemen took custody of the child and immediately rushed her to the nearest hospital for medical attention. Owners of the house where the baby was found said they had no idea about the identity of who dumped the infant in their yard. But the Sun-Star report cited an informant who said a tricycle entered the subdivision at 3 a.m. Wednesday and that it passed by the residence where the baby girl was found. Police officer Grace Garcia said the infant is now recuperating at the Tiglao General Hospital (TGH) in San Joacquin village in Mabalacat. - GMANews.TV
