Borgy adversary getting support of 'other victims'

The family of Carlo Brown, a scion of the prominent Pardo de Tavera clan who was reportedly mauled by a party led by commercial model and TV host Borgy Manotoc earlier this month, is getting the support of "other victims" to boost the case being prepared against the son of Ilocos Norte Representative Imee Marcos. Radio station dzBB reported Wednesday that Carlos' mother, Mara Pardo de Tavera, said they are now coordinating with the other reported victims of Manotoc. One of those who promised to help strengthen the case against the model and television host is Dr Rey Fong who said his son was mauled by Manotoc in Boracay two years ago. On April 10, Manotoc, 24, got into a fight with Carlo Pardo de Tavera Brown, 22, at the Embassy Bar at The Fort in Taguig. Brown said that at the bar, he merely asked the time from a woman he did not know who turned out to be Manotoc's girlfriend, commercial model Ornusa Cadness. He said Manotoc told him not to talk to Cadness. The two men later argued, which reportedly ended with Pardo De Tavera and his friend being beaten up by Manotoc and nine others. Brown was unconscious when he was brought to Makati Medical Center . Brown's mother said he wanted to lodge a strong complaint against Borgy the reason she is not rushing in filing the case. She said their family agreed to get the support of the other victims of Borgy. Manotoc had earlier apologized for the incident but Brown's family said they doubted the Marcos scion's sincerity. It was also at the Embassy Bar last February where Manotoc confronted former professional basketball player Paul “Bong" Alvarez when the latter mistook his girlfriend for a waitress. It was at the same Taguig bar where Manotoc last year figured in a brawl with singer Jay-R after the latter also talked to his girlfriend. Manotoc is a grandson of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.-Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
