1st public gig: Kris shows up at Nonoy press con

Actress and television host Kris Aquino made her first public appearance Thursday 14 days after she gave birth to Baby James in a press conference for his brother, Noynoy, at Imperial Palace Hotel in Quezon City. Aquino, in an interview with GMA News before the press conference sponsored by film producer Lily Monteverde, said she asked her doctors to allow her to go to the gathering in order to show her support for the candidacy of her brother. "It's my first appearance... to be here for my brother. Kasi hindi ko nagampanan yung ipinangako ko sa kanya na iikot sana ako dahil di ba naka-bed rest ako and then pinilit ko yung mga duktor (to allow me to go here)," she said. She added: "Ginawa ko 'to kasi the whole time naman na nasa ospital ako gumawa siya talaga ng paraan din na tatlong beses niya akong dinalaw kahit gaano ka-busy yung schedule niya." She said her doctors checked her before they granted her request to go to the press con. "(Sabi nila) OK sige you can go basta wag ka masyado magpagod," Aquino said. She added before she left their house, she pumped milk to ensure that there is enough supply for her baby. When asked on the condition of her newborn, Aquino proudly said that Baby James now weighs four pounds and six ounces. "Today happy kasi the pediatrician went, dinalaw kami, and nag-gain siya (Baby James), ano na siya 4 lbs 6 ounces ngayon. And sabi ko nga tiyaga lang talaga yun na pagtitiyaga na mag-breastfeed nang mag-breastfeed," she said. Aquino said the Lord heard her prayers and gave her more than what she wanted.
