Soldiers stop Casiño sortie in Leyte

(Update) Army men reportedly broke into a meeting being attended by Rep. Teodoro Casiño and his campaign team shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday in Barangay Linao in Ormoc City, Leyte, according to a text message relayed by the Bayan Muna party-list representative. In a telephone interview, Casiño said that Vincent "Bebot" Borja, a political campaigner for Anakpawis, was arrested by the military men after talking with him. They were in a meeting in a house of a member of the Kilusang Mayo Uno when around 15 soldiers suddenly entered and handcuffed Borja. One soldier said that Borja was being arrested on murder charges. Casiño went with Borja and the soldiers, who said they were from the 802nd Infantry Brigade, went to the camp, about 10 to 15 minutes away from Barangay Linao. As of this posting, the handcuffed Borja is still under detention, and they were waiting for their lawyer. - GMANews.TV
