Norby awaits charges from Batasan 6 'liars'

National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales said he is expecting to be sued by the “liars now in celebration," pertaining to the six party-list lawmakers earlier accused of rebellion. “Hihintayin ko yan. ( I will wait for them to sue me) It’s not a problem for me, wala naman siguro rin akong magagawa kundi paghandaan dahil mukhang ako nga ang idedemanda at si (Justice) Sec. (Raul) Gonzalez...Magkita kita na lamang sa korte (I can't do anything but to prepare for the case, it looks like they're going to sue me and Sec. Gonzalez...We'll just see them in court)," said Gonzales in a phone interview with Malacañang reporters Sunday. The lawmakers or the so-called “Batasan 6", said they will file charges against those behind the alleged legal maneuvers against them. Lawyer Romeo Capulong said cases will be filed against those who arrested the six, those who ordered their arrest, and the public prosecutors who allegedly allowed themselves to be used by government officials who wanted to curtail the rights of the representatives. The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the rebellion case against representatives Satur Ocampo, Teodoro Casiño and Joel Virador of Bayan Muna, Crispin Beltran and Rafael Mariano of Anak Pawis and Liza Maza of Gabriela. Gonzalez, however, said the representatives were lying when they denied that they were engaged in rebellious activities. “Itong mga sinungaling na ito, itong mga nagse-celebrate na ito ngayon, laging nagpro-provoke ng gulo ang mga iyan. ( These liars who are now celebrating with the SC decision, they always provoke trouble). (They are) engaged in rebellion…" He feared that the Supreme Court’s vindication of the lawmakers could set a dangerous precedent for those who want to sow terror in the country. "Nakakatakot ang epekto nito, armed rebellion ang pinag uusapan dito. Walang excuse sa armed rebellion. Sana di magkalakas ng loob ang iba na tularan sila, maging precedent ito, huwag naman sana (The effects of SC's decision is threatening, we are talling here of armed rebellion. There is no excuse for armed rebellion. I hope nobody would follow their example, that this becomes a precedent. I hope not)." - GMANews.TV
