Judge junks plea to halt Pasay demolition

A Pasay City judge on Wednesday afternoon junked the petition of residents of a Muslim community seeking to cease the demolition operations in a reclamation area in Baclaran, radio DZBB reported. The ruling of Judge Maria Rosario Ragasa of the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 108 meant that the demolition will continue until 6 p.m., the deadline given to crewmen finish of the operations. Tension gripped the Muslim community immediately when police entered the near the area. Operatives from the Philippine Reclamation Authority assured residents that the community mosque will be spared from demolition. Six men were also arrested for carrying knives and throwing stones at the approaching demolition team.- GMANews.TV
