Cops baffled whether to arrest man accused of 'raping' chicken

Police are baffled whether to arrest a man for allegedly “raping" and killing a chicken in Plaridel, Bulacan, GMA News’ Saksi reported early Friday. Eduardo Faustino of Agnaya village has filed a complaint to the police accusing a drug-crazed man identified only as “Jano" of committing the “crime." The man lives in a room next to the chicken cage Faustino owns. The owner claimed he caught the man inside the room lying in bed clad only in underwear and the dead chicken resting on the suspect’s belly. According to village head Maximo Lazaro, the man already left when village officials arrived to investigate the incident. “Obviously the chicken was raped. The animal’s rear was shattered," Lazaro told GMA News in an interview. Village officials accompanied Faustino to the police to file the complaint against Jano who did not return to his room after the incident. According to the report, police are studying if the complaint would qualify as a rape-slay case. Animal welfare advocates, however, said a law against animal cruelty can be used to nail the man. - GMANews.TV
