Estranged father kills 2 kids, self in Antipolo

Unable to reconcile with his estranged wife, a 53-year-old man shot dead his two children before shooting himself dead inside their house in Antipolo City Sunday night. Radio dzBB reported Monday that Juanito Macapagal, 53, shot himself with a 9-mm pistol after killing his daughter Jaina, 22, and son Jemar, 19. The shooting took place in front of Jemar's girlfriend, at the Macapagal residence in Purok Sumulong, dela Paz village in Antipolo City. Investigator-on-case PO3 Manuel Padlan admitted that with the father's death, no more case can be filed against him. Padlan cited initial testimonies by neighbors that the elder Macapagal had been distraught over his one-month separation from his wife. He said the elder Macapagal was sore at his two children, who refused to tell him where their mother was. "Baka crime of passion ito.
