Muslim missionary killed, mutilated in Basilan

A Muslim missionary who provided information to the military about terrorists was found mutilated, his body parts stuffed into a sack in Basilan province. Online newspaper Mindanao Examiner (www.mindanaoexaminer.com) reported Wednesday night that civilians found the sack in Balagtasan village in Lamitan town in Basilan. Marine Col. Ramiro Alivio, military commander in the province, condemned the killing. He said a manhunt is now on for the culprits. Alivio said the victim, who was not immediately named, had provided information to the military about the al-Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf group and lawless elements in Basilan.
